A summer full of events.

As humans, we sit an average of 9.5 hours a day. This is a lot and is actually not good for you at all. Now that summer is coming, we Dutch enjoy the sun and the nice weather enormously. Something we have missed during this gray winter and are definitely ready for again; enjoying the sun, nature and the nice weather.

We say take advantage of the weather for your next event! The atmosphere improves so much when your venue is outdoors, or when you incorporate an outdoor activity into your program.

What is your company planning this summer? We share some tips and ideas for your next summer event.

Organize your entire event outside

You can easily do this for an internal event where you and your employees kick off summer and celebrate the fact that the weather is nice. Consider, for example, a sports tournament, an outdoor workshop, BBQ or a company festival. This way you will have a fun and interactive team building and reward your employees for their hard work with a wonderful day.

But an outdoor event can also be used for a sales event, for example. Plan your plenary session at an outdoor location, use different activities to include interaction in your program and at the end of the day you can host a delicious BBQ while your guests are networking in the sun.

Or are you planning to launch a product in summer atmospheres? Then also consider a fresh and natural location in which you can perfectly combine your product with the outdoors. Nature affects people's (mental) health and also stimulates productivity. So summer is the perfect opportunity to launch your product outside.

Take advantage of the festival and summer season

Many major sports events, concerts or theaters also have business packages. An example is Formula 1, one of the biggest public events in the summer in the Netherlands. Many people find this a special event to attend, and you have the chance to make it even more unique. It's the perfect place to invite your business contacts for an exclusive experience while still being able to meet your event goals. By the way, you don't have to think only about the Netherlands; you can also look across the border for other great events.

Tips

- Summer is often full of beautiful days, but the weather remains the weather. So should the weather suddenly turn on the day of your event, make sure you have a foolproof plan B. Take this into account during your pre-production and make sure you have a plan B.

- Keep toilet facilities in mind. If you are hosting an event indoors at a venue, there is always a restroom nearby. So be sure to consider this while planning your outdoor event.

- Rent a tent! Perfect for when the weather does turn or the sun gets a little too much. Hold your plenary session under the tent, or provide seating opportunities to take a break in the shade.

Can't see the forest for the trees? We'd love to come to you and help you organize your next summer event.
