Events of the future.

In a world where technological developments seem unstoppable, we face a plethora of opportunities and challenges. Developments are happening so fast that it is almost impossible to keep up with everything that is happening. Therefore, in this article we have listed a few things you can use in your events.

Events in Metaverse

The metaverse is a virtual 3D world made entirely of digital technology, in which people can interact with each other online. With a digital double you can engage in various activities in virtual 3D spaces. In the video game world, the metaverse is already more widely used, but more and more events are also developing in the metaverse. Consider, for example, Travis Scott's concert in Fortnite a few years ago. But much more is possible, such as virtual conferences, festivals, meetings, and other types of events.

The metaverse is still in development, but through various platforms you can already organize events. Many people may not fully understand it, but there are real advantages to the metaverse. Take hybrid events for example; this concept has grown tremendously and is still very popular. Using the metaverse during a hybrid event gives the opportunity to give the guests attending your event online the same experience and look and feel as the guests coming to your physical location. There is the possibility of organizing different activities in the metaverse, so that they, too, get a full program when they go to an event. Also, fully online events gain a new level of experience because the metaverse can be set up the way you want.

During an event in the metaverse, you also get a lot of data, for example about your participants, but also what they do and don't participate in; this allows you to adjust your next event accordingly.

Of course, there are also some drawbacks to the metaverse; the success of your event in the metaverse depends very much on the type of event and the target audience. If the goal of your event is pure networking, then the metaverse may not be the best place at this time because it is so different to network online than at a physical event. If your target audience falls within the older generations, then the metaverse may not be the best place for your event either, as not everyone is as digitally accessible.

AI

The customer journey and personalization are becoming increasingly important by generation. Personalization is already being used more and more. Think for example of Amazon, where, when you are on the website, you often see "customers like you have also bought this," or of course Netflix, where you always get personalized recommendations based on things you have seen before.

Companies are receiving more and more data about their customers; AI can help process and apply all this data. AI allows you to increasingly put yourself in the shoes of your target audience during the organization of an event, making your event more relevant and interesting to your target audience.

You can also use AI in your marketing, for example with texts for your website, social media, invitations or update emails. Or, for example, in the way you approach your customers. AI can help predict where certain segments of your target audience hang out and where they are most likely to see your ads and communications. Think of AI as a support in your daily work that allows you to get things done faster and the core really applicable to your target audience. Be alert though that you are clear in what you need from AI and use it as the basis for your final marketing or event plan.

AR and VR for interactive experiences

Augmented reality has been around for a while, but many people don't yet think about using it during their events. During an event, you can easily let visitors view your products in 3D if you can't bring everything to your event or trade show.

The brand experience you create for your attendees becomes stronger through the use of AR, as long as you make sure the AR experiences align with your brand and the message you want to convey. Through this enhanced brand experience, you add extra layers to your event and set yourself apart from the competition. Your attendees will definitely still be talking about the technology you used during your event.

Of course, you also have VR that doesn't tie you to the world around you; it's a completely virtual location. This can also certainly be used for interactive experiences. For example, think of a virtual showroom. However, VR requires more equipment that you may not have available to you as a business.

Our vision for the future

In the dynamic world of technological advances, we are on the eve of an exciting future for events. Technology can help with things where reality sometimes falls short. There is often a limit to the things you can tell or portray, but with AR, VR and AI, the boundaries are blurring and the possibilities are endless.

Our take on these technological developments within the event industry? Embrace the development and take advantage of the opportunities this technology brings. In any case, we are certain that we will incorporate these technological developments into every event we organize for a client.
